Benefits
The SSD and it’s Intel i5 processor make this MacBook a smooth and fast one. There’s no need to wait for programs to respond and you can even do some photo editing on it and run other multimedia tasks.
The touchpad and keyboard won’t bother you in extended periods of use and are quite satisfying. It’s a compact laptop, light and easy to carry around, an excellent travel companion.
You can open the screen with one hand without worrying that it will wobble. The built quality is perfect and stable. Even though this MacBook is thin its battery lasts very long especially if you don’t watch movies going to about 15 hours, still, about 9 hours watching movies on it, which is excellent.
The screen is pleasant to look at and it’s clear with no shiny reflections meaning you don’t have to worry about sunlight too much. It takes about 5 seconds to boot up which makes it one of the fastest booting laptops reviewed.
Downsides
One of the few downsides of this laptop is speakers. Because it’s so slim the speakers must be tiny as well making them an issue to get them right. The speakers lack bass and metallic sounding. If this is a problem for you, get a pair of headphones and, you’ll be ok.
Verdict
Picking the MacBook Air 2017 model won’t leave you disappointed. It still is one of the cheapest, best laptops from Apple even though the 2018 model of the Air is better in many areas.
