HP Pavilion Power 15 Review

For most people, the specs in this HP are powerful enough. The screen and audio are a bit of a letdown but overall seems like a decent laptop, and one of the best buys in 2019 (check the lowest price).

Benefits

It has a 7th generation i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB hard drive, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card. This means that it can easily handle complex spreadsheets or gaming. It can also run most of the software without slowing down.

You get around eight hours of battery life with this laptop while browsing on wi-fi, which is quite good. From off to on takes about 15 seconds, which is not great, but given the fact that it doesn’t have an SSD is ok. You can always upgrade to an SSD if you want to chop the boot time.

Downsides

This laptop has great power, but it is disappointing that the screen had to be compromised. It looks quite dull. You may also notice pixelated text and a bluish tinge. It’s not that terrible, but it is noticeable.

While the audio seems ok overall, you can feel the lack of bass.

Verdict

The power of this laptop pulled it in the best laptops of 2019 category even though the screen and sound are average. We would say this is an essential purchase if the screen were better. Although the downsides are relatively significant, this still is a good laptop if you are going after a powerful machine.
